What is Upside?

Upside is a smartphone app that rewards users with cash back for pumping gas, shopping for groceries and eating at local restaurants. Upside is available for iPhone and Android devices.

How to use Upside?

Install the app on your phone, sign-up and claim offers around you. Start earning cash back on purchases you already make.

How does Upside work?

After installing, when you first run the app you will be asked to enable location permission. This is necessary in order to see local offers around you. You can allow the location while using the app only, rather than have it turned always on.

Now you will start seeing offers on the map near you.

Tap on a place where you wish to receive cash back from (gas station, restaurant etc.) and then press “Claim”. Simply navigate to the location with the help from in-app directions.

If you are in an area with an active offer, the app will ask you if you want to claim it.

Next tap on “Check in”. In the next screen you will be asked to choose the desired payment option for the purchase.

The quickest and easiest way to validate your purchase is by having a debit or credit card saved in your profile wallet. Only the first 6 and the last 4 digits of the card number are required.

After checking in you have 4 hours to complete the offer before it expires. A countdown timer will show you exactly how much time you have left.

And that’s all, when the purchase is verified you will receive your reward within 10 days according to GetUpside, but it usually takes a day or two. A confirmation email will be sent to you when your cash back is available.

How to cash out from the GetUpside app.

Currently there are three different options to cash out your money from your GetUpside account: PayPal, Digital Gift Card and Check via mail.

The minimum amount to request a payout is $1.

If you choose PayPal as your option, there is a $1 service fee for withdrawals under $15. There are no fees for withdrawals over $15.

Gift card withdrawals have no fees and must be made in rounded dollar amounts. Some of the Gift Card options include: Amazon, Walmart, Nike, Google Play, Apple… and more.

If you prefer to have a check mailed to you the withdrawal fee is $1 for amounts under $50. There is no fee if the cash out amount is above $50.

All service fees are waived if you refer someone else to join the app.

GetUpside is currently only available in the United States.
